The empire has fallen, but the New Republic is still fragile. Somewhere in the outer Rim, the bounty hunter guild operates out of the planet Nevarro. The Mandalorian is one of its most effective members. He only hunts down the highest-paying targets. He’s been offered a contract worth a fortune. All he knows about the target is his age: 50.
But when the fearsome warrior reaches his destination, a well-guarded fortress, he finds himself face to face with a small green creature—a fifty-year-old baby. Despite the guild’s code of honor, which compels him to hand the target over to the client, the Mandalorian cannot bring himself to do so. From that point on, hunted by both the Imperial client and his own guild, he will have to go into hiding to protect the little creature with strange powers.
A lone warrior who becomes a father
In a galaxy where political power lies in tatters, giving way to all manner of illicit dealings, survival often demands to join a clan, which can be made up of members of any race. People ally themselves with whoever they can. Friendships and family ties are forged as adventures unfold. But some clans remain bound by a shared history and culture, such as the Mandalorians in exile. And yet, there are rival factions among them.
Between clan solidarity and fleeting friendships, The Mandalorian explores the question of social identity. We are shaped by our roots, but we can choose the people we become. And sometimes, fate takes us in a completely unexpected direction. This warrior, who has cut himself off from everyone and everything, will learn to protect his adopted son. And in doing so, he will build a network of loyal friends.
Written and directed by longtime Star Wars fans, the series stays true to the canon in every way. It features other familiar characters and explores exotic planets, all punctuated by action and space battles. Classic but effective!
