The story : Mitch & Cam are about to become daddys : their are adopting a vietnamese baby girl, Lucy. She is the last addition to a big family : Mitch’s sister, Claire, and her husband Phil, have three children on their own. Mitch’s and Claire’s Father, Ray, has remarried a younger woman, mother of a teen boy. Three Families, dysfunctional of course (which family isn’t ?), bickering, sometimes fighting, but united by an unbreakable love.
Why it is a real success : the 30-minute comedy format is conducive to success. But it’s not enough. Juicy dialogs, crazy but endearing characters, extreme yet plausible situations : real life magnified through irony. When you’re feeling a bit down, and your family is a real pain, there’s nothing like a little episode to restore your zest for life!
