I’m part of the older generation that saw the Star Wars phenomenon take off with the original trilogy! I loved those groundbreaking films. Sure, they were a bit cheesy, but they created a legend and inspired the dreams of millions of people. I was a bit put off by the next three films, which were clumsy and had weak plots. The ones after that? They were hit or miss…
When the series came out, I have to admit I was worried and skeptical. Just another attempt to cash in on a trend… To my great relief, the TV series were, on the whole, much better than the movies!
By taking the time to develop the characters, avoid major plot holes, and introduce new worlds, the series make clever use of a very rich source material. Some, such as the magnificent Andor or the moving Rebels, are true gems.
If you’re on this page, you’re probably already a Star Wars fan. But I hope these series will help win over a new audience—they deserve it. We all need to dream.
