Liam Cole, a brilliant astrophysics student at MIT, discovers that an asteroid is heading toward Earth. He rushes to his professor, Malcom Croft, to confirm his calculations, but the scientist mysteriously disappears shortly after this revelation, and Liam is pursued by sinister men. So the young man takes a gamble and manages to meet Darius Tanz, a famous businessman at the head of a pioneering company, and an MIT alumnus like himself. Tanz, a jack-of-all-trades genius, immediately grasps the danger.
The two scientists devise a plan to save the Earth. But their resources are insufficient, and Tanz turns to the White House. From then on, in the race against time that ensues, the asteroid will no longer be the only formidable enemy…
Conspiracies galore and romances
The weak point of the series is its slightly overly serious tone. I also regret a casting of supermodels in every role. But it will appeal to the conspiracy theorist in all of us. One might think that a threat of destruction to humanity would lead to unity. Not so. Several groups, on the contrary, see it as an extraordinary opportunity to seize power: a group of cyber pirates, the Russians, wealthy businessmen, and even hidden factions within the White House, each launching their own vicious attacks.
However, in order to hold on and implement a plan to destroy the asteroid, Liam, Darius, and a few others will have to trust each other, which is not always easy. Each of them will find their soul mate, but not without difficulty. In the midst of chaos, all that remains is the love we have for our loved ones.
