2025

Below are the NEW series released in 2025 (not new seasons), on Amazon Prime, Disney+ and Netflix. Those are series I have seen and liked ! I may have seen others, but not found it interesting enough to write a post about it. My favourites series are in bold.

Disney+

• A thousand blows / London, 1880. Two Jamaican friends arrive in the East End. One of them become a boxing star. By the creator of Peaky Blinders.
• Paradise / The President has been murdered. Here, in a small city designed for ultra-rich, protected from everything, even the end of the world…

Netflix

• American Primeval / Utah, around 1850. The army, the mormons, the other settlers and the native americans. Survival is a constant challenge.
• Apple Cider Vinegar / Australia, 2012-2015. the journey of two young women battling cancer. One of them lies.
• The four seasons / Three couples of long life friends, one of them gets divorced, and they all start to question each other.
• The Leopard / Sicily, 1860. A noble family prepares for invasion by Garibaldi’s army. Passions and ambitions reveal themselves.
• The residence / Detective Cordelia Cupp investigates a murder at the white house with her own peculiar methods
• Toxic town / Corby, Northamptonshire, in the 1990’s. Several mothers give birth to children with deformities. They will seek justice
• Wolf King / [animated] A young man discovers that he can transform into a wolf, and that he is the rightful heir to the throne.
• Zero Day / After an inimaginable attack, former President Muller leads a fully empowered commission. But is he up to the task?

• Adolescence : a teenager is accused of murdering a classmate. How is that possible ? A good topic and a bold artistic choice : shot on handheld camera, the length of the episode corresponds exactly to the length of the plot. This avoids pathos, but the result is too casual, bordering on boring.
